The city of Sammamish was incorporated in August of 1999. With a recent vote for annexation of the Klahanie region in 2016, 61,250 residents now call Sammamish their home.

The main shopping center of Sammamish is located on 228th with the new addition of the Metropolitan Market and a wide variety of restaurants.
